The AUES Ball is Auckland's largest university ball, drawing 700 attendees every year. This sell-out mid-year celebration attracts university students from across Auckland. Held in a stunning venue, with an open bar and a live band and DJ, it's no surprise our annual Ball is a fan-favourite!
Onsite Insight
Onsite Insight company visits with our Gold and Platinum partners provide students with a true insight into their future careers in the professional industry. We look forward to further increasing students' exposure to the professional world with a diverse range of site experiences.
Round the Bays
Our first event of the year, and one of AUES's great traditions, involves walking our 'chariot' to the end of the 8km Round the Bays course. It is a great way for students to get out and meet new people at the start of the academic year - all while enjoying Auckland's scenery and sharing a few cheeky cold ones along the way.
Interfaculty Sport
AUES coordinates sports teams to represent Engineering in the inter-faculty sporting competition. In 2024, the Engineering Eagles won first place overall and aim to do the same in 2025.
Interfaculty sports are open to all, with trials held throughout the year for specific sports. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on sign-ups. Sports on offer include Waka Ama, Touch, Basketball, Futsal, E-Sports, Ultimate Frisbee, Netball, and more.
STEINS
For those new to AUES, Steins are our most popular events, drawing around 1,000 attendees twice a semester! In short, we book out a venue, bring in our best DJs, and pack the building with Engineers and their mates. As a member, you get free entry to these epic nights. Steins are a highlight of every attendee’s University experience and are a great way to connect, unwind, and make unforgettable memories.
Wellness Week
During Wellness Week, AUES provides free fruit, breakfast, and fun activities for students on campus. With events across the university, Wellness Week has become a popular morale booster and helpful de-stresser before exams.
Pub Crawl
Our Pub Crawls are another extremely popular event on the social calendar, with tickets usually disappearing in a matter of minutes. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is rather simple: make it to the final pub. A party bus transports those brave enough between a number of venues where good times are guaranteed to be had.
